Nakhal: Nakhal is famously known for its fort, which dominates the town. The fort has a long-running history and is a testimony to the Persian presence in the area before the 7th century CE. Constructed in 1834 by Iman Said bin Sultan on the ruins of a pre-Islamic structure, the fort is now a museum, exhibiting a historic armoury and a wonderful view of the Batinah plain and its palm gardens.
Wadi Bani Awf : Wadi Bani Awf is one of the largest wadis in wilayat Al Rustaq in the South Batinah Governorate of Oman; it covers a large area with several villages worth visiting, including the famous “Snake Canyon”.
The route through Wadi Bani Awf’ goes through beautiful scenery and connects all the way to Balad Sayat in Al Dakhiliyah region by crossing the Hajar Mountains. The wadi offers some of the best off-road driving experience.
Bilad Sayt: Bilad Sayt is a mountain village in Oman. The village is located on the NE slope of the Al Hajar Mountains near the highest peak in the Sultanate of Oman, Jebel Shams. Bilad Sayt can be reached through Wadi Al Sahtan and Wadi Bani Awf from NE or via Al Hamra from the SW and is only accessible by 4-wheel-drive vehicles.
